Umesh Yadav is having a dream run in the ongoing third and final Test match against South Africa at Ranchi. On Sunday, Umesh had displayed an entertaining batting performance with a splendid cameo of a 10-ball 31 which included five sixes at a strike rate of 310 as he went on to shatter a few records as well. His sharp throw after a misfield hit the bull's eye to send back Kagiso Rabada. The Vidharbha Express was also outstanding with the ball as he finished with figures of 3/40 at an economy rate of 4.44 which included a maiden. However, the one thing that stood out was his dream delivery which dismissed the South African skipper Faf du Plessis.
Umesh Yadav baffles Faf du Plessis
It had happened in the morning session of Day 3 on Monday. On the penultimate delivery of the sixth over bowled by Umesh Yadav, he bowled a straight delivery after pitching it in the length of the onside as the Proteas skipper's attempt to defend that delivery was completely foiled as the ball went right through his defence and disturbed the timber. Faf headed back to the pavilion for a nine-ball single as the visitors reeled at 16/3. The video of Umesh Yadav baffling Faf du Plessis was posted on social media. Watch the video here.

Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav became the first Indian fast bowler to pick 3+ wickets in five successive innings at home. His bowling figures in the last five innings are as follows: 6/88, 4/45, 3/37, 3/22 and 3/40 (in the ongoing match) respectively.
SA follow-on, lose half their side
Apart from a 91-run fourth-wicket stand between Zubayr Hamza and Temba Bavuma, South Africa could not show much of a resistance as they were bundled out for 162. Indian skipper Virat Kohli then enforced follow-on as the hosts still had a mammoth lead of over 320 runs. Even in the second innings, the Proteas got off to a disastrous start as they were reduced to 22/4 in no time. Another huge blow was dealt to the Faf du Plessis-led side when their opening batsman Dean Elgar had to retire hurt after he was struck on the side of his head by a lethal delivery from Umesh Yadav. George Linde, who had replaced him was run out by Shahbaz Nadeem.
