Musheer Khan Attributes Century in Duleep Trophy Debut to His Brother's Influence

After Day 1's play at the Duleep Trophy match, MCA batter Musheer Khan opened up on his resilient outing which fetched him a ton in his Duleep Trophy debut. He revealed that his key factor was his brother Sarfaraz Khan, as he tends to follow him since they have the same game. Musheer also expressed his intention to bat till Stumps and avoid to take risks.

“My brother and I have the same game. I try to follow whatever he does. In the middle, he only asked me to follow my technique. Usne bola agar tere ko lagta aage bad sakta hai, to aage bad kar khel [If you feel like moving forward, go ahead and do it].

“I wanted to play as many balls as possible without thinking too much about runs. I wanted to bat the whole day, and I was taking it session by session. The ball was swinging and cutting when I came to bat. So, I was trying to play the ball as close to my body as possible and was looking to avoid those risky shots. I knew runs would eventually come,” Musheer Khan said after the day's play.

The 19-year-old Musheer Khan made history after he was levelled to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly after he joined the club of the cricketers who scored a ton in their first-ever appearance in a domestic tournament.

Musheer Khan's celebrations knew no bounds as he soaked in the joy of his celebration after scoring a ton in the Duleep Trophy tournament. At the dugout, Sarfaraz Khan also couldn't contain his excitement as he carried the celebration. The team's support staff applauded Musheer with a standing ovation.
