The Vijay Hazare Trophy final on Saturday will be a southern derby as Karnatak will face an unbeaten Tamil Nadu side that has been impressive in the entire tournament so far. The final is set to take place at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019: Karnatak form in the tournament 

For Karnataka, their top-order batsmen have been in superb form in the tournament. The likes of KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Devdutt Palikkal have been scoring runs for fun in the entire tournament, Tamil Nadu bowlers would find it tough to stop these three in-form batsmen. Mayank Agarwal, who played the Test series against South Africa has joined the side as well to strengthen the batting attack.

Pacers Prasidh Krishna and Abhimanyu Mithun have delivered the wickets consistently. The spin trio of Krishnappa Gowtham, Shreyas Gopal and V Koushik have been fantastic; Krishna is Karnataka’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 scalps.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019: Tamil Nadu form in the tournament

Tamil Nadu also has been in superb form in the tournament with an unbeaten record. The batting lineup has dismantled the bowling attack of opposition throughout the tournament. Baba Aparijith has been the leading run-scorer for the side with 532 runs, while skipper Dinesh Karthik (407 runs), Abhinav Mukund (515 runs) and all-rounder Vijay Shankar (346 runs) will be hard to stop for Karnataka bowlers.

The bowlers too have done a fine job with M Mohmmad leading the wickets list with 16 scalps. Murugan Ashwin and K Vignesh each have 14 wickets to their name. The return of Ravichandran Ashwin in the side will only add more solidity to the bowling attack.

The match is expected to be a close affair between these two sides and the one to hold the nerve will emerge the winner.
