We have witnessed many stunning moments during the ongoing edition of the IPL. The audience at MA Chidambaram Stadium could witness a similar astonishing incident during the clash between defending champions and three-time winners Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab on Saturday.

The incident happened in the 13th over of Kings XI Punjab's run chase which was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja. As KL Rahul swept the ball, MS Dhoni who was standing behind the stumps, appealed for a leg before wicket. Rahul tried to take the risk of sneaking a single but an alert Dhoni was quick enough to react. He quickly went and collected the ball and threw it perfectly at the wicket. Rahul was short of his crease and the CSK players started celebrating. However, Rahul looked at Dhoni and pointed towards the stumps to indicate that neither were the stumps dislodged nor did the bails come off.

Dhoni then went on to tell his team-mates that the Punjab opening batsman was not out as their celebrations were cut short. While, the CSK players were in a confused state of mind wondering about what had happened, Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul smartly stole a single. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja who had pointed his fingers to celebrate Rahul's dismissal suddenly had his hands on his head and was seen alerting the fielder to stop an extra run. In the end, Dhoni was seen sharing a smile with Ambati Rayadu.

Earlier CSK who had batted first after winning the toss got off to a brisk start due to a 56 run opening stand between Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis. Faf, who was playing his first game of the season, bought up his 10th half-century. He scored a superb 38-ball 54. The finishing touches were added by Dhoni (37) and Rayadu (21), the partnership that stitched in a 60 run stand to take CSK to a competitive score of 160/3 in their 20 overs.
