Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024: Team India are currently training at the Optus Stadium in Perth ahead of the first IND vs AUS Test match. The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy gets underway on November 22, 2024. The Indian team trained at the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) ground for few days and played intra-squad games which was a part of their match simulation process. India definitely know that they need to be on the top of their game to beat the Aussies.
India are the defending champions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and they are in with a chance of beating Australia in a Test series for the fifth consecutive time. The last two times India toured Australia in 2018 and 2020, they came back with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It has been almost a decade that the Aussies last won a Border-Gavaskar Trophy. All eyes, as expected are on former India skipper Virat Kohli who has been struggling in the longest format of the game.

Australia has always been considered as one of the toughest places to play cricket. The conditions are equally challenging for batsmen, bowlers and fielders. The Australian summer can take a lot out of fielders while they are covering huge gaps in big grounds. The Indian team is going through the grind and is getting ready for the challenging conditions that lie ahead of them.
In the leadup to the first game, the Indian team went through some drills with fielding coach T. Dilip. The members of the Indian team were trying to perfect flat throws and boundary line fielding in a video shared by the BCCI. The video showcased former India captain Virat Kohli firing in quick throws and later celebrating it.

Team India To Challenge Australia Down Under
There is a lot at stake for Team India going into the IND vs AUS Test series. The Indian team has to defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but they also have to fight hard for a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. India need to defeat Australia 4-0 in order to make a case for themselves and to qualify for the WTC Finals.
