Virat Kohli likely to smash Sourav Ganguly, Greg Chappell records against Bangladesh

Virat Kohli will be back to his captaincy duties in the upcoming two match-Test series against Bangladesh which starts from November 14.
Virat Kohli was rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh which India went on to win comprehensively under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. As Kohli returns to lead India in the Test series, there are a few milestones that he will be eyeing.
The Indian captain is on his way to surpassing former captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on the list of most runs for India in Test cricket. Virat Kohli is currently placed at the seventh position with 7066 runs from 82 matches while Sourav Ganguly ended his illustrious career with 7212 runs in 113 matches.
Virat Kohli to surpass Sourav Ganguly
Virat Kohli needs just 157 runs to move past Sourav Ganguly. The players who top this glorious list are Sachin Tendulkar (15921), Rahul Dravid (13288), Sunil Gavaskar (10122), VVS Laxman (8718) and Virender Sehwag (8586).
In the international arena, Kohli has an opportunity to move past Chris Gayle (7214), Stephen Fleming (7172), and Greg Chappell (7110) on the all-time list for most Test runs.
The Indian skipper also has an opportunity to equal Àllan Border's feat for the most number of Test wins by a captain. Kohli has won 31 matches out of the 51 he has captained while Border had won 32 out of 91.
Former South Africa captain Graeme Smith tops the list with 53 wins from 109 matches while Australia’s Steve Waugh ended with 51 wins from 57 matches. West Indies legend Clive Lloyd is placed third with 36 wins from 74 matches.
India defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the recently-concluded T20I series and are set to take on Bangladesh in the first Test in Indore. Both the teams are set to play their first-ever day-night Test in Kolkata from November 22.
