After Mohammed Rizwan, former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has also urged the Indian team to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy . Claiming that the Indian stars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have a lot of fans in Pakistan, Akram admitted that he has been getting positive vibes from the Indian government about it. Akram reckons the Indian team will travel to Lahore for their games and travel back to Amritsar on the same night.

‘There are positive vibes’

“I think, based on what I’m reading, there are positive vibes from the Indian government and BCCI,” Akram told reporters during an online press conference from Melbourne.

“They will likely come to Lahore and travel back the same night. I’m all for it, as long as India is comfortable.”

“And I can promise you, they are going to be looked after amazingly well. Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli , Rohit Sharma , Hardik Pandya , and Suryakumar Yadav have fans in Pakistan. Young cricket fans adore them,” he said.

Not long back, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that all teams would be travelling to Pakistan, that includes India.

Meanwhile, Rizwan was recently appointed as the white-ball captain of Pakistan and that has drawn a lot of reactions. Akram too spoke about it and hailed Rizwan claiming that he has the experience of leading sides and should do well.

“Rizwan is an experienced player. He has captained teams throughout his career, leading Multan Sultans in the PSL to one trophy and two finals,” Akram said.

‘All teams will come to Pakistan’

“Do not worry, all teams will come to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy ,” Naqvi stated in Karachi.

Pakistan is set to play a white-ball series in Australia. The Pakistan side will play three ODIs and an equal number of T20I games.
