Virat Kohli , who had a disappointing start to the series with scores of 6 and 17 in the first Test at Chennai, will be eager to make a significant impact in the next match. He has limited experience at Kanpur's Green Park stadium, having played only one Test there in 2021 against New Zealand, where he scored 27 runs across two innings.

The India vs Bangladesh Chennai Test marked Virat Kohli 's return to red-ball cricket after an eight-month hiatus, following his impressive performance in the Centurion Test against South Africa, where he scored 76. Notably, Kohli missed the five-match series against England in February-March due to personal reasons. It was later revealed to be the birth of his second child, Akaay.
