Laxman's incredible knock at Eden Gardens

India were coming into the 2nd Test match at Eden Gardens on the back of a loss in Mumbai. Even in this Test, a defeat looked inevitable for India. After electing to bat first, the Aussies had posted 445 and in reply, India were bundled out for 171 and then Australian skipper Steve Waugh had enforced the follow-on. Waugh's decision turned out to be brilliant as the hosts were reduced to 232/4. However, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid had other ideas. Laxman scored a 452-ball 281 and added 376 runs with Rahul Dravid (180) for the fifth wicket. The Hyderabadi batsman missed out on a well-deserved triple hundred but he had done enough to help India register a famous win. The Sourav Ganguly-led side won this contest by 171 runs. India also won the following Test in Chennai to win the three-match series.
