Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya received a lot of flak and criticism for his sexist and misogynist comments earlier this month on the celebrity TV show 'Koffee With Karan'. He was taken to the sword by a number of individuals, and had to pay a price for his action in the form of suspension from the national team.

Despite action taken by the BCCI and CoA against him, furore against Hardik only seems to be growing. The recent example of that is a poem penned down by Priya Malik, video of which has been posted on Youtube.

"Dear Mr Player, aaj mai kar ke aai, no not sex, but a lesson on respect, gender sensitivity and sexism, which is available to you for free to help you understand that there is nothing cool about your rampant misogyny to help you realise that being a man has nothing to do with crass behaviour, and that boys manning up are all about kindness, compassion and candour," part of her poem read.

Hardik, along with his national teammate KL Rahul had featured in an episode of Koffee with Karan, wherein the two players, especially Hardik, made some sexist and misogynists remarks.

Despite issuing an apology, Hardik faced backlash for their comments, and even his own skipper Virat Kohli termed his and Rahul's remarks as 'irresponsible'. Following the whole saga, the BCCI and CoA took cognizance of the matter, and initially issued show cause notices to the duo. But with the matter getting bigger day by day, the Indian cricket officials suspended the duo till further action, and called them back to India for their response.

While most of them have spoken against the duo for their remarks, there have been a few who have come out in their support. The likes of Indian fast-bowler Sreesanth and former umpire Simon Taufel have sympathised with the duo, suggesting them to be given another chance to rectify their mistakes.
