Alyssa Healy Doubtful to Lead Australia Against India, Skipper Seen in Crutches & Walking Boot in Sharjah

Ahead of the Australia vs India Women's T20 World Cup Group Stage clash, trouble has mounted over the Aussie women's side as they could be in action without their regular skipper. Alyssa Healy was seen arriving at the stadium with a walking boot, and she had to take support of crutches as she walked out of the bus in Sharjah.

Cricket Australia is yet to present any update on the situation, and they are expected to release a statement during the toss of the India vs Australia match. Clarity will be received on whether Healy will walk in or the team's vice-captain will lead the charge as the stand-in skipper.

Alyssa Healy had suffered an injury on her right foot during the Pakistan group stage fixture, where she could not complete the match and had to hobble off the field. CA issued an update, saying that the Aussie Women's skipper had an 'acute injury to her right foot.'

"Alyssa sustained an acute right foot injury while running between wickets. Once we have more information based on her assessment and scans tomorrow, her availability for the remainder of the tournament will be clearer," Cricket Australia stated after the AUS-W vs PAK-W match.

Cricket Australia is already dealing with a big blow after Tayla Vlaeminck has to miss out on action in the remaining game of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. She suffered a dislocated shoulder, which made her unable to compete in the later stage of the ICC Women's tournament. Heather Graham has been approved as her replacement in the team.
