The Rohit Sharma aka ‘Hitman’ came to the party once again as he notched up his fourth century of the ongoing World Cup. The opener smashed the Bangladesh bowlers to all parts of the Edgbaston ground as he brought up his hundred in just 90 balls. With his class knock of 104 in 92 deliveries, the Mumbaikar became the first Indian batsman to register four centuries in the same World Cup. He is also only one behind legendary Sachin Tendulkar, with five centuries in the overall tournament, while emulating other legends like Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting. Rohit also went past Sourav Ganguly's tally of 25 tons to become the third-highest Indian century-maker, behind Sachin and Virat Kohli. Moreover, the 32-year-old also became the top-scorer of the current tournament with 544 runs, 28 ahead of David Warner.
Netizens showered the swashbuckling batsman with praises like ‘You beauty’, ‘What a Man’, ‘RO-SUPERHIT-SHARMA!’, 'Mr. Consistent,’ while terming the moment as ‘FABULASTIC ‘ and also hoping there is a hat-trick of tons.
Rohit scored 102 against England in the previous match, 140 against arch-rivals Pakistan and 122* against South Africa in the tournament, to now stand 544 runs, 28 ahead of David Warner.
