Pakistan has been eliminated from the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 after the match between the United States and Ireland was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The Babar Azam-led side suffered two back-to-back defeats against the USA and India at the start of the competition, which cost them dearly, leading to their early exit from the tournament.
Having reached the final of the T20 World Cup 2022, Pakistan was expected to be a strong contender for the Super 8 stage this year. They were favourites to qualify for the second round alongside India from Group A, which also included Ireland, the USA, and Canada. However, their campaign got off to a disastrous start with a shocking defeat against the USA in their opening match, followed by a loss to arch-rivals India. Babar Azam trolled after Pakistan's early exit from T20 World Cup 2024
Following Pakistan's exit, captain Babar Azam has faced significant trolling on social media. A video of Babar confidently asserting that Pakistan would not only finish in the top four but also win the T20 World Cup 2024 has gone viral.
