BAN pacer Tanzim Hasan penalized by ICC for 'physical contact' after found guilty in code breach
Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan was penalized for his actions during the BAN vs NEP T20 World Cup clash when he confronted Rohit Paudel during the match.

In the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Bangladesh was able to end its group stage run with a strong win over Nepal. For a team that has already qualified for the Super 8, a win to cap off the beginning stage of the tournament was necessary. The Najmul Shanto-led side put up a strong showcase against Nepal, a team who have been performing like a machine gun in the tournament. at the BAN vs NEP clash, some intense moments also took place as players of the opposition sides were seen in a heated staredown and some physical contact also took place. The ICC took notice of the scenario and reprimanded the man behind the action, BAN pacer Tanzim Hasan.

Tanzim Hasan penalized by ICC for his intense stare down with Nepal's Rohit Paudel after being found guilty of level 1 breach
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has punished Bangladesh pace bowler Tanzim Hasan for his actions against Nepal batter during the teams' clash at the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The event occurred near the conclusion of Nepal's third over. After bowling a delivery, Tanzim walked aggressively towards Nepal batter Rohit Paudel while also making inappropriate physical contact with the cricketer.
Tanzim was found to have violated Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during the match on Sunday, which relates to "inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match," according to an official statement released by the ICC.

Tanzim Hasan has admitted to the offence and has accepted all the sanctions proposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. As a result, the BAN pacer has been penalised 15% of his match fee for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, and there was no need for a formal hearing.

Level 1 violations are punishable by an official reprimand as a minimum, 50% of the player's match fee as a maximum, and one or two demerit points.
