As the country is gearing up to welcome the World Cup winning heroes back home, speculations are rife that Team India will have a busy schedule upon landing in Delhi. According to sources, the immediate follow-up for Team India upon returning would be meeting Prime Minister Modi. Afterwards, the team could have a city tour in an open top bus while brandishing the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy.

Team India to have open bus tour in Mumbai with T20 World Cup trophy

The entire country is in awe of Team India as they have been the bearer of happiness. Ending the hoodoo of the ICC trophy drought was long-awaited and as Rohit Sharma and co have succeeded in their pursuit the fans are singing the praise for the team. Pleased with the team's performance, BCCI has already announced a whopping prize money of 125 crore for Team India and it seems further honors are ought to come. As it happened in 2007, reportedly a city tour is planned in an open-roof bus in Mumbai. Hence, fans would have a chance to get a glimpse of their T20 World Cup winners along with the silverware they earned.

It was MS Dhoni and co. who had an open top bus tour in 2007, when India won the T20 World Cup for the first time.

When could the open top bus tour take place?

As Team India's chartered flight from Barbados has been further delayed due to complications related to Hurricane Beryl, it is expected that the team will arrive in the wee hours of Thursday. According to reports, the arrival time is stated to be 1:30 AM. Thus, taking this as the base, team could have a meeting with the Prime Minister on Thursday night and may have the tour on the next day or this weekend. However, it is all an assertion until Team India returns home.
