After Team India won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced via X that the team will get an astounding INR 125 Crores in prize money. Shah gave the squad high marks for their outstanding talent show, unflinching will, and excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition. He congratulated the players, coaches and support personnel on their outstanding work and performance that made this amazing achievement possible. The declaration emphasised how proud and honoured Team India is to have won the world championship and to be one of the strongest cricket teams in history.
The BCCI secretary had assured before the competition that, led by Rohit Sharma, India would win the World Cup and raise the Indian flag in Barbados as champions.
As it happened, Jay Shah kept his word and the Indian Cricket Team won the prize that the country most wanted.
After India won, Jay Shah rushed onto the pitch, beaming, opening his arms widely and punching the air. As every Indian is, he was ecstatic with the team's victory and went on to hug and lift Hardik Pandya off the ground.
