'I saw Jaddu and...': Bumrah reveals planning behind Rizwan's dismissal during IND vs PAK WC match

The Indian Cricket Team destroyed the Pakistan Cricket Team in the ICC ODI World Cup fixture on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Rohit Sharma’s decision to bowl first turned out to be smart at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Babar Azam’s team only managed to make 191 in 42.5 overs after being all-out. With the heroics of Team India, they beat PAK by 7 wickets in just 30.3 overs.

IND vs PAK: Bumrah reveals how he analyses the pitch so quickly 

Jasprit Bumrah gave a very outstanding performance in the match against Pakistan. He took two vital wickets with a total delivery of 42 balls, of which 32 were dot balls. On a Saturday, India's dominating seven-wicket victory in their third encounter of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was largely due to Bumrah's effort.

Bumrah maintained his impressive form in the match against Afghanistan, taking four wickets on a difficult pitch that other bowlers found difficult to hit. In Delhi, on a pitch that was ideal for batting, India skipper Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century, but Bumrah's bowling gave the impression that he was playing on a completely different surface. Bumrah was named the Player of the Match vs Pakistan. During the post-match presentation he talked about how analyse the pitch so quickly, he said: 

It felt good. Usually you try to analyse the wicket as soon as possible. We realised the wicket is on the slower side so we wanted to bowl hard lengths. We were trying to make it as difficult as possible,

Just being aware I guess. I used to ask a lot of questions when I was young and that helps me now. Now I’m experienced. In my younger days they (seniors) were used to being troubled by me sometimes ( with questions), but it helps to read the wicket and try different options.

IND vs PAK: Bumrah reveals how he took the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan 

After a spectacular delivery, Bumrah dismissed the well-established Mohammad Rizwan, who was only a few runs shy of fifty. With an off-cutter that just missed the inside edge and crashed onto the off-stump, the delivery featured a deft change of pace that left Rizwan perplexed. He added: 

We were bowling in the middle overs and I saw Jaddu’s (Ravindra Jadeja) ball was turning, not too much but a little bit. I count my slower ball as a spinner’s slower ball, one of those days where it came off,
