Team India is now in the Super 8, thanks to the team's outstanding bowling performance, which allowed them to advance to the event. Aside from that, the team struggled at bat. Top players such as Virat Kohli fumbled because they were unable to capitalise on the momentum and get things rolling. However, a couple of hitters made significant contributions to keep the Men in Blue in the driving seat. As India prepares to begin its Super 8s trip in the West Indies, a former cricketer has shared his opinion on the Rohit Sharma-led team and sets his expectations from Team India.

It is undeniable that Virat Kohli's low-scoring strings have sparked concern as Team India begins their journey in the US for the Super 8 stage. But before they begin their campaign in the Caribbean, former India star Sanjay Manjrekar believes that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can deliver big knocks despite their current form, and he doesn't see it as a problem if a couple of cricketers are out of form.
"Ideally, if you have gone for people like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, then you have gone for experience. You want to take your experienced players in World Cup to deliver when it really matters.

"So, I don't mind if certain players are out of form. Coming into the knockouts, if they play a defining innings in a semi-final or the final to win the title, that's the kind of expectation you must have from your senior players. If a youngster comes to the fore, that's a bonus like it happened in 1992 with Pakistan, with Inzamam ul Haq. It's the seniors who have to make the major contribution, and that is why I guess selectors go for experience in T20 World Cup or World Cups generally," Sanjay Manjrekar said.

The Indian Cricket Team secured their Super 8 spot, but they had to put up a fighting effort against Ireland, Pakistan and the US to keep them in top gear against the competition. The final group-stage match against Canada turned out to be a washout as the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to the wet outfield. A lot of expectations will remain over the Men in Blue as they will face some of the most formidable opponents in the globe. Team India is one of the top contenders for the title this year, but their performance in the Super 8s is yet to be seen.
