Team India is gradually heading towards the West Indies as they have made their way to the Super 8 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. India had to power their way through after the tracks at the Nassau County Stadium did not hand in their favour. Star batters like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma failed to deliver in the US, as they lost their wickets cheaply. But the bowlers did the miracle for them in the marquee tournament. With India set to tour the Caribbean soon, concern looms around Virat Kohli's form, which will be vital to edge ahead in the tournament.

Virat Kohli's RCB teammate gives a heads-up to the fans as Super 8 looms

Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, who was a teammate of Kohli in the Royal Challengers Bangalore, dismissed all doubts regarding their performance and mentioned Virat Kohli specifically while speaking to Cricbuzz. He maintained that when Team India heads to the West Indies for the Super Eight stage, the star-batter will regroup.

“Rohit just got a 50 in the first match. How much can he score on these pitches? The team itself is only scoring 100. Don't worry about Virat Kohli. He will score when it matters.

“He is never not performed in the World Cup, and there is no doubt about this World Cup too. He will 100 per cent perform. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Virat Kohli will be there. We have qualified for the Super Eight. I promise you, he will be all guns blazing once we reach the Caribbean,” said Dinesh Karthik.

Team India has one more match before they move ahead into the group stage as they will face Canada in Lauderhill, Florida at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium on June 15, 2024. The Men in Blue and the United States have officially qualified for the Super 8 after a washout gave the US an edge, and 'Qudrat ka Nizam' failed to work out for the Babar Azam-led side this year. Two of India's opponents have been determined as they will face Afghanistan and Australia in the Super 8. One more opponent will be determined as the tournament progresses.
