'Don't want to rely on...': Rohit Sharma views teamwork as a key aspect at critical IND-PAK match

Rohit Sharma banks on expertise as India faces Pakistan at ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

Ahead of Team India's once-in-a-year clash against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma believes that teamwork will be viral against Pakistan at an unpredictable Nassau County International Cricket Stadium pitch. While speaking in the pre-match press conference, The Team India skipper said that the team will not bank on a star player like Virat Kohli and instead rely on the entire Men in Blue for the marquee clash against the Babar Azam-led Men in Green.

"I don't want to rely on one individual to win us the game. Everyone needs to chip in. He didn't play the Bangladesh game. He didn't have a great outing in the first game, but we all know he brings in a wealth of experience," Rohit Sharma said.

Virat Kohli joined the Team India camp late in New York and missed out on the warm-up match against Bangladesh. The Indian side opened their group stage opener against Ireland, and Kohli was seen in action as an opener. But he failed to impress as he lost his wicket rather cheaply.

Virat Kohli and the entire Team India will be seen in action against Pakistan at the newly built yet controversial Nassau County International Cricket Stadium at the Eisenhower Park in Long Island, New York.
