'Expected From Team': Ishan Kishan Extols India's T20 WC Win and Urges Triumph in Champions Trophy

Ishan Kishan praises Team India's T20 World Cup win and urges them to continue their successful momentum by triumphing in the Champions Trophy.

When the BCCI chose to remove top Indian batsmen Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from their Central contracts for the 2024–24 season back in February, it made headlines. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were dropped from the team because they didn't comply with the management's and team captain's disciplinary requirements or those of domestic cricket. After that Indian Cricket Team won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, finishing the entire competition unbeaten. They beat South Africa in the finals by 7 runs.

Ishan Kishan heaps praise on Team India and advocates for them to lift the Champions Trophy 

Speaking to PTI, Ishan Kishan praised Team India's outstanding performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, highlighting their undefeated record and decisive victory against South Africa in the final. Despite being removed from the squad due to disciplinary difficulties, Kishan showed enormous pleasure in the team's accomplishment and ardently lobbied for their success in winning the Champions Trophy. Speaking to the PTI, Ishan Kishan said: 

"India has won. We should all pray for their win in the upcoming Champions Trophy. We were making some mistakes but the way we played and won, it was expected from the team," 

Ishan Kishan failed to make it into the squad for the T20 World Cup, he will also be missing the upcoming series as India will now field a youthful team in the Twenty20 Internationals, with the Indian cricket team against Zimbabwe. Shubman Gill will be the captain of Team India throughout this series.
