When the BCCI chose to remove top Indian batsmen Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from their Central contracts for the 2024–24 season back in February, it made headlines. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were dropped from the team because they didn't comply with the management's and team captain's disciplinary requirements or those of domestic cricket. After that Indian Cricket Team won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, finishing the entire competition unbeaten. They beat South Africa in the finals by 7 runs. Despite being removed from the squad due to disciplinary difficulties, Kishan showed enormous pleasure in the team's accomplishment and ardently lobbied for their success in winning the Champions Trophy.
