The historic Australia vs England rivalry was re-ignited ahead of their imminent Ashes series in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. At the Kensington Oval in Barbados, the two cricketing powerhouses were in action as both teams attempted to put up a rocking display to the fans in Barbados. As usual, things may get a bit spicy when two fierce rivals meet, and a lot of engagement with the fans can be seen. One such moment arose during the AUS vs ENG group stage clash in West Indies when Glenn Maxwell was seen engaging with the fans, but he was mocking them after making a catch to dismiss an opposition batter.

During the 14th over of Australia's match against England in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. In the fourteenth over, Hazlewood had Jonny Bairstow caught by Glenn Maxwell. After winning the match, Maxwell turned to the group of English fans who had been mocking him from the stands and gave them the iconic John Cena rub. Maxi used the 16-time World Champion's famed 'you can't see me' gesture to celebrate a wicket in the match.

Cricket Australia's bowling was in top gear as they went against the defending champions, England, in the T20 World Cup 2024. After being thwarted in the initial over, Glenn Maxwell gave only two runs in the 12th over, Zampa three in the 13th, Hazlewood two in the 15th, and Pat Cummins four in the 16th and 19th.

Forced to bat first, Australia got off to a rocky start with openers David Warner and Travis Head, but they recovered and scored 201-7, the highest total in a week-old event with challenging pitches. England took a shot at making the third most successful run chase in tournament history but fell to 165-6. Adam Zampa and Pat Cummins each claimed two cheap wickets.

The first big heavyweight match played a day before India vs. Pakistan, fell short of expectations as Australia expertly pressed England, who struck only three boundaries in the final six overs at Kensington Oval. Australia leads group B and can almost certainly qualify for the Super 8 stage if they beat Namibia.
