India's batting coach gives big statement on Virat Kohli's poor batting

Virat Kohli has not been able to perform well in the T20 World Cup 2024, scoring just 29 runs in 4 innings. Kohli's highest score in the tournament is 24, which he hit against Afghanistan on Thursday. Before that. Kohli registered scores of 1, 4, and 0 in the group stage of the competition.

“I’m not happy. I would love it if he gets going and scores more runs. But yeah, it is good when you are challenged at times,” Vikram Rathour said in the post-match press conference on Thursday.

“You know, the guys who are not getting too much of batting in India sometimes, they are the ones who put up scores today and our middle-order came to play. So, it was good to see,” Rathour said.

Vikram Rathour also opened up on Virat Kohli's much-talked-about batting position in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Rathour said that everybody wanted Kohli to open the batting and now that he is doing it, people have started raising questions. Rathour said that if any changes to the batting order happens, it will be due to conditions and opposition.

"Are you not happy that he is opening? Everybody wanted him to open I thought. We are not thinking on those lines. We are happy with the batting order we have. And if any changes happen it will be based on the opposition and the conditions," Vikram Rathour said.
