BCCI secretary Jay Shah hints at Team India's next captain after Rohit Sharma

It comes as no surprise that Jay Shah has hinted at Hardik Pandya to be Rohit Sharma's successor and take over as Team India's next T20I captain moving forward.

Jay Shah was ecstatic post India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 as he went on to celebrate with the team and gave a huge hug to Hardik Pandya. He also helped Rohit Sharma plant the Indian national flag at the field of Kensington Oval in Barbados.

As it turns out, just moments after India's win and celebration he spoke about who will be the next captain for Team India. While, Jay Shah did not confirm anything he did hint at Hardik Pandya being one of the leading candidates to take over.

"Captaincy will be decided by the selectors and we will announce it after discussing with them. You asked about Hardik, there were lot of questions over his form but we and selectors showed faith in him and he proved himself,"said Jay Shah.

Jay Shah further clarified that despite their retirements there are no doubts that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to represent India in Tests and T20Is.
