Batting first, India posted a challenging total of 171/7 on the board, which proved to be too much for England's batting, who surrendered in front of skillful spin bowling of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. Patel was adjudged the Player of the Match for displaying outstanding figures of 4 overs, 23 runs, and 3 wickets. He also contributed with the bat, scoring 10 runs in 6 balls.

Team India's victory means an entry into the final of the tournament where South Africa had cemented its place by beating Afghanistan by 9 wickets.
