In a tantalizing Super 8 clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India meets Bangladesh at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. India, led by Rohit Sharma, aims for a fifth consecutive win against Bangladesh, while concerns exist over the form of key players like Virat Kohli. Bangladesh, captained by Najmul Hossain Shanto, will rely on Towhid Hridoy and Mustafizur Rahman to propel them forward. Expect a fierce battle as India eyes a crucial victory to progress in the tournament. The match promises high-quality cricket action in Antigua.

Sanjay Manjrekar made a huge statement about India’s top batting order failure and the requirement of Yashasvi Jaiswal

Former Indian cricket player Sanjay Manjrekar has advised the squad to think about starting the exciting left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal in the current Twenty20 World Cup. When evaluating the performance of the present opening duo, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have had partnerships that have produced just 22, 12, 0, and 11 runs, Manjrekar thinks there may be opportunity for change. Though the management of the club prefers continuity, Manjrekar makes a strong argument for Jaiswal's inclusion in the starting XI by highlighting his ability to win games on his own. Speaking on ESPNCricinfo, Manjrekar said:

“A left-hander, plus the kind of game that he (Jaiswal) has. At some stage, India will feel the pressure of having a batter like him to open. If something is not working at the top, you can't keep having that plan through the tournament. It's like a monkey sitting on your shoulder.”

Manjrekar admitted that the problem will be solved if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma get back to their best. Still, he underlined the need of these two important players giving outstanding performances in momentous events like the semifinals and championship game.
