Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Felicitates Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav Following T20 WC Triumph
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde felicitates Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal following their T20 World Cup triumph.
Team India's World Cup winning captain Rohit Sharma, players Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey and Yashasvi Jaiswal arrived at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's residence to be felicitated for their triumph in T20 World Cup 2024.
It has been a whirlwind 24 hours for Rohit Sharma and his team as the World Champions returned home and were greeted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following their meet with the PM they flew to Mumbai to carry forward their celebrations in an Open Bus Victory Parade through Marine Drive followed by a grand party with the fans at Wankhede Stadium.

Maharashtra cricketers from the T20 World Cup winning squad Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dubey were invited to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's residence ‘Varsha’ where they will be felicitated.
All the four cricketers arrived at the CM residence and met with Eknath Shinde. The honourary CM felicated Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav and also presented them with an idol of Lord Ganesha,
Eknath Shinde also felicitated young and upcoming Indian Cricket stars in Suryakumar Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

‘We are Proud of Him’: Eknath Shinde on Rohit Sharma
Post the felicitation as Eknath Shinde was making his way out, he hailed Rohit Sharma and his Indian Cricket Team for their fantastic efforts in making the nation proud.
“(Indian cricket team) skipper Rohit Sharma came here, and I would like to congratulate him. He is a World Cup winner and a down-to-earth person. We are proud of him,” said Maharasthra CM Eknath Shinde.
Rohit Sharma has now joined the elusive list of Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni as the only Indian captains to win a World Cup for the nation.
