Team India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023

It all seemed like a fairytale when Team India was vanquishing each of the opponents in the round-robin phase. Rohit Sharma and Co. annihilated the Aussies in their first match, outplayed Afghanistan in the second match, and obliterated Pakistan in the following match. The teams of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and South Africa also could not put on a challenge in front of the Men in Blue. Thereby, the team flawlessly stormed into the semi-final. In the last four stage, the old foes New Zealand were resolute but eventually fell short by 70 runs. With 10 wins in 10 matches, the momentum was on India's side but in the final Australia delivered their A game to snatch the trophy.

Although the ICC trophy still eludes India, the World Cup 2023 gave so much to celebrate and as time will pass and the wounds will heal, the tournament will be pondered with pride and delight.
