Rohit Sharma joined the elite list of Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni as the only captains to have brought home the World Cup after India beat South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling T20 World Cup 2024 final at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
After the iconic victory, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20I cricket. Not only did Rohit Sharma win his second T20 World Cup title he also continued his legendary record in T20s with the World Cup final victory.
Rohit Sharma continues LEGENDARY T20 record with T20WC Final win
Rohit Sharma is arguably one of the greatest captains in T20 cricket. He has won five IPL titles captaining the Mumbai Indians and also won the T20 World Cup as a captain now.
Hitman owns an unbelievable and legendary record when it comes to T20 Finals as a captain and he carried forward that legacy with India's T20 World Cup 2024 victory.
Rohit Sharma boasts a 100% winning rate as a captain in T20 finals. He has captained a total of 8 T20 finals and emerged victorious on all of these occasions. Five of these eight triumphs have come captaining Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League (IPL), one in the CLT20 with Mumbai Indians, and one of them is obviously this World Cup. Rohit Sharma also captained India in their Nidhas Trophy final victory over Bangladesh back in 2018.
Amazingly as a player Rohit Sharma has participated in 12 finals and has an 11-1 record. The only T20 Final Rohit Sharma has lost was the T20 World Cup 2024 back in 2014 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

Captaining India to a World Cup trophy was one of Rohit Sharma's biggest dreams and he came ever so close when India lost to Australia in ODI World Cup final in 2023.
He managed to redeem himself with the T20 World Cup triumph. His first message to fans as a World Champion was an Instagram story, waking up with the World Cup trophy and wishing his fans Good Morning.
Rohit Sharma and Team India are currently stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl but are expected to return to the nation soon to celebrate the world title.
