Afghanistan against all odds beat Bangladesh in their final super 8 encounter to seal a historic qualification into Semi Finals of T20 World Cup 2024. This marks the first time Afghanistan has qualified to the Semi Finals of a World Cup be it ODI or T20I. 

The Rashid Khan led side's historic qualification came at the expense of reigning ODI World Cup Champions Australia and Bangladesh. Ever since, Afghans beat Bangladesh and sealed their semis birth, scenes of jubilation and emotion spread through the entire nation. Not only did the players celebrate the triumph in the ground or in the bus but also the streets of Nangarhar, Khost and other parts of the country were packed back home as the nation rejoiced in their cricket team's biggest success at the world stage yet.

Fans take to the Streets to celebrate Afghanistan's semi finals triumph

Afghanistan as a country has gone through a tough time with political instability for the last 3 years. But the cricket team's performance in T20 World Cup 2024 provided them much joy and excitement.

Afgnaistan Cricket board shared pictures of the celebrations taking place in the streets of Afghanistan as it's a human wave of emotion. Here is how the nation celebrated the historic triumph.

Afghanistan players celebrate in Bus

In a video shared by Afghanistan's bowling coach DJ Bravo on Instagram, Afghanistan players were seen celebrating their victory in the team bus. 

In the video it can be seen that players like Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadeen Naib were leading the celebrations as they grooved to Dwayne Bravo's music.

Afghanistan will now face South Africa in their T20 World Cup semi final and they will look to do the unthinkable and advance to the finals of the tournament.
