Team India led by Rohit Sharma became the first team in history to win the T20 World Cup 2024 by going undefeated in the entire tournament. They won 8 games and one game against Canada was washed out.

In Team India's journey towards becoming Champions they dismantled their neighbouring nation of Bangladesh in Super 8 clash at T20 World Cup 2024. However, Bangladesh in that match only played two pacers and were without their star pacer and vice captain in Taskin Ahmed. So why did Taskin Ahmed not play in such a crucial match against India?

Revealed why Taskin Ahmed did not play in Super 8 Clash against India at T20 World Cup 2024

Bangladesh vice captain and star pacer Taskin Ahmed was a notable absence in their must win fixture against India at the Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2024. However, as it turns out it has been revealed that Taskin missed the clash not due to any injury or discomfort but due to a shocking reason.

As it turns one of the reasons Taskin Ahmed did not play the game was due to the fact that overslept before the match and went on to miss the team bus and apolgised to his team for missing out. This is according to a BCB official as reported by Cricbuzz.

“It is true that he (Taskin) joined the team later after missing the team bus. But why he did not play only the coach can say because whether he was in the plan or not (against India) is something that can be answered by the head coach (Chandika Hathurusingha). If there was any issue (between coach and the player) how he played the next game against Afghanistan. He apologized to his teammates and everyone for not being able to get up on time, and that's it, and no need to make an issue out of it”, said the BCB official in the report.

This is certainly an interesting turn of events and might suggest an unrest inside the Bangladesh dressing room. However even if Taskin Ahmed would have played the game against India it is hard to foresee how Bangladesh would have uprooted this dominant Indian side.
