The Nassau County International had a fair share of chatter in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. While it was an architectural marvel which allowed New York fans to witness some solid clashes, including the India vs Pakistan match-up, the venue's status has the fans perplexed. The venue's tracks and outfield were a matter of huge concern as it was deemed dangerous and unfavourable to the batters. Now that the matches in the New York leg have ended, the venue is all set to be razed down, and the work has already begun after the India vs USA match-up.

Nassau County Stadium being razed down after India vs USA clash, but what about the drop-in pitch?

The Nassau County Stadium is all set to be razed down and demolition work has already begun at the place. Eisenhower Park will return to its old state, and it will take six weeks to dismantle the grandstands and seating facilities. The venue was built in 106 days and was one of the first-ever makeshift cricket venues. The locals of New York will now have unlimited access to the outfield as it will stay there and can be used free of cost. As per Cricbuzz, in terms of the pitches, the ICC said that it is up to the Nassau County authorities on what they want to do with it.

"If they want to keep them and handle the required maintenance, they can," said an ICC official.

If not, the ICC will move the drop-in pitches — which have been the topic of intense debate for the past two weeks — to a location where they will be required. That being said, the outfield will stay where it is.

Given that the MLC fandom is rising in the United States, America may have some new cricket-playing venues in the future. But till now, the Grand Prairie Stadium and Central Broward Regional Park remain the two international-level pitches in the area, and the sport is expected to grow more with time.
