Will Rohit & Dravid tweak tactics ahead of AUS clash? St Lucia pitch creators offer an ultimate take
The pitch creators are favoring the pace bowlers to put up a showcase at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground during the India vs Australia Super 8 clash at T20 WC.
Team India is all set to lock horns against one of their biggest nemesis, Australia. After they broke millions of hearts at the ODI World Cup, The Men in Blue will look for a big win against them at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Saint Lucia. One win will do wonders for the team as it could seal their spot for the semifinal. On the other hand, Australia are reeling in from a loss to Afghanistan, and they need a win to keep themselves on the title page. The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue will look to derail them from the contention. Before the clash, the Beausejour Stadium's pitch curators offered their analysis of the pitch.

Saint Lucia pitch creators want the teams to favour pace bowlers ahead of India vs Australia T20 World Cup Super 8 clash
Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja make up Team India's spin-heavy lineup, and they've been successful as the Men in Blue are unbeaten. However, the ground staff at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground advised that they add another pace option, preferably Mohammed Siraj, to support Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh instead of a spinner, as the black soil pitch doesn't support much spin. This recommendation came a day before the match that could potentially eliminate Australia from the tournament.
"The pitch is nice and hard, should stay the same throughout in a day game. Whichever team bats should score 180 to 200. I prefer to bat and put runs on the board. England batted poorly. The pitch got a bit tricky and the ball was not coming on.
“It gets drier in a day game when the sun is out, it would be a good game tomorrow. Here we don't get much spin. We get nice bounce but not a lot of spin on this black soil pitch. I would play an extra pacer. The surface is more suited to the pacers and has consistent pace and bounce,” said a member of the ground staff at the Darren Sammy Stadium.
"Bowlers will need to bowl well else they get punished," said another member of the ground staff.

At the England-South Africa day game, the spinners performed admirably if previous games are any indication. Additionally, the pitch demonstrated its great scoring ability when Sri Lanka scored 201 runs against the Netherlands.
Since the beginning of the Super Eights, India has used Kuldeep Yadav as a spare spinner. Having taken five wickets in three games, Rohit Sharma is unlikely to bench him. It is anticipated to be a fun experience anyway.
