'You are losing to first-timers. You can't chase 120, you don't deserve': Pakistan slammed by legend

It was a horrid ride for the Babar Azam-led Pakistan as they failed to qualify themselves for the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. It was a major embarrassment for the Men in Green as they could not prevail against associate cricket-playing sides like the USA. Even though they survived against Canada and Ireland, it did not help their case by any means. With the US heading to the Super 8 stage, Pakistan have to walk back and instead prepare for for next year's Champions Trophy at home. As the team exits the tournament after playing their final group-stage match, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has gone all out against PAK.

Virender Sehwag lambasts Pakistan's shambolic run at T20 World Cup 2024
Virender Sehwag shed light on Pakistan's run in the T20 World Cup, where he touched upon the fane that the Babar Azam-led side failed to chase down a mere 120-run target against India and failed to prevail against the USA. Sehwag claimed that Pakistan should've lost in the Super 8 stage as they will not have easier opponents.
“How can you blame rain? Even if you had won, you didn't deserve to go ahead. You would've lost in Super Eight stage. You wouldn't have had easier opponents there. You need to realize that you are losing to first-timers, you don't deserve to go ahead. You can't chase 120 runs against India, score 113 with wickets remaining... how can you blame the rain?

In 2007, neither India nor Pakistan qualified for the second round. We were in different groups back then. Now, ICC will rethink on keeping India and Pakistan in a group and ensure they don't keep a team that beats them!” Sehwag said as per Crizbuzz.

Pakistan's dream to secure an ICC title was jeopardized by their shambolic performance against the USA and India after they let go of the chances which were handed out to them. But the Babar Azam-led side could not put up against the challenges which were presented to them. PAK picked up a consolation win over Ireland to end their T20 World Cup campaign, but it is yet to be seen whether they look to right their wrongs as they move further in the game of cricket.
