Yuvraj Singh's long-standing record has been broken. Way back in 2007 during the inaugural T20 World Cup, Yuvraj hit English pacer Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over. Now, Samoa's Darius Visser has bettered that now by hitting 39 runs in an over on Tuesday to edge the former Indian legend. Visser eventually ended up with 132 off 62 balls versus Vanuatu in a seamer Nalin Nipiko at Garden Oval No.2 in Apia, Samoa, during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A match. Visser became the first Samoan player to hit a century as well. Nipiko overstepped thrice in the over and that helped. Visser's surreal knock also helped him edge more recent efforts from Kieron Pollard (2021 - 36 runs), Nicholas Pooran (2024 - 36 runs), Dipendra Singh Airee (2024 - 36 runs).

Here is the clip that is now going viral:
Visser has surely got his name etched in the cricket. The 39-run over happened in the 15th over of the innings when Visser hit the first three balls from Nipiko for sixes. There was no respite for Nipiko as Visser hit the fourth ball for a six as well. The fifth ball was a dot, but then, he hit another six off a no-ball. He fell four sixes shy of the world record. It is an innings that would be remembered for a long time.

Samoa Won But Just
It was a one-man show for Samoa as the rest of the batters could not contribute much. Samoa posted 174 in 20 overs and eventually won the game by 10 runs. Samoa now has two wins in three games and are very much in the race for making a cut for the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup edition. Cook Islands top the group with two wins in two games.
