Arsenal Reach Verbal Agreement to Sign Serie A and Italy's Euro 2024 Star

Arsenal have come ever so close to beating Manchester City to the Premier League crown in the last two seasons as despite being leading throughout the season they faltered at the very last moment.  

In both the seasons, Arsenal's Achilles heel turned out to be their lack of squad depth. The Gunners have addressed the issue in the summer transfer window and have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Serie A and Italy's star performer at Euro 2024. 

Arsenal reach agreement to sign Italy Euro 2024 star 

Arsenal identified the centre back spot as a position that needed reinforcement after the end of last season and have reached an agreement to sign Italy's revelation at the spot in Euro 2024 Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. 

Arsenal and Bologna reached a verbal agreement to sign Riccardo Calafiori for a deal worth 40 Million Euros and 5 Million more in add ons and sell on clause as reported by Fabrizio Romano. 

Arsenal and Bolgona according to Fabrizio Romano are now finalising the details and formal paperwork to make the deal official.

Riccardo Calafiori will travel to London later this week to get his medical done and contract signing to make the deal official. Arsenal beat off interest from Juventus and other Premier League clubs.

Who is Riccardo Calafiori?

Ricciardo Calafiori is a 22-year old left footed Italian centre back who has risen to prominence after his fantastic performances with Bologna in Serie A. 

Calafiori made his debut in Serie A for AS Roma back in 2022 and signed for Bologna in 2023.

The centre back rose to prominence after he was one of Italy's best player at Euro 2024 in a tournament which was one to forget for Azurri.
