Atletico arrive in Saudi Arabia ahead of Spanish Super Cup v Barca

The Atletico Madrid squad arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of their Spanish Super Cup semi-final against La Liga leaders Barcelona on Thursday in Jeddah. The tournament has been revamped from a two to a four-team format and takes place thousands of miles from Spain.

The event features the winners and runners-up from the 2019 La Liga and from the Copa del Rey.

Reports from the Spanish media suggest that only 50 tickets have been sold to Atletico Madrid fans for their match against Barcelona, while Valencia has sold just 26 tickets to their fans for their semi-final clash with Real Madrid. The final will take place on 12th January at the 62,000-capacity King Abdullah Sports City stadium.
