Carabao Cup: Arsenal ease past Nottingham Forest in the third round

A brace from Gabriel Martinelli, along with three goals from Rob Holding, Joseph Willock and Reiss Nelson secured the win for Unai Emery’s side. Spanish coach Unai Emery offered an opportunity to a host of Arsenal youth products to prove their worth at the Emirates. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Joseph Willock, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith-Rowe took the field against Nottingham Forest in round three. Summer signing Kieran Tierney also made his debut as Bukayo Sako got some playing time in the middle. Brazillian striker Martinelli scored his first goal for the Gunners in the 31st minute.
However, Arsenal came to life in the second half as they upped the ante at the attacking end of the field. Rob Holding, making his first start this season, scored in the 71st minute with an assist from Nelson. Willock also got on the scoresheet six minutes later after he was played in by Hector Bellerin. Reiss Nelson added to the tally with a goal in the 84th minute as Arsenal sealed the win in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Martinelli scored another in the dying stages to end the match at 5-0.
