Key Performances: Genk vs Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp opted to start Mohamed Salah as he made a quick return from his ankle injury. Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also returned to the starting line-up as Klopp chose to tinker with his midfield. Chamberlain repaid his manager's faith with a man-of-the-match performance as he opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the first half and later added to his tally in the second half. Sadio Mane and Salah scored the other two goals for the visitors. Keita looked assured in midfield lining up beside an ever consistent Fabinho. He had a passing success of 93%. Despite not scoring, Firmino did more than enough to trouble Genk, with his movement and slick footwork proving to be a handful for the home side. Alisson on his first start in the Champions League this season had to be alert throughout and did make a couple of fine saves.

Genk did enough to trouble Liverpool and managed to catch the Reds out on multiple occasions. Stephen Odey came from the bench to score their only goal as Genk finally managed to breach Liverpool late in the game. Dieumerci Ndongala; another substitute, did well to skip past the Liverpool defenders and find Odey for the goal. Bryan Heynen and Sander Berge too had a good game for the Belgian side.
