As the new season of Saudi football approaches, the focus is on Cristiano Ronaldo, who has yet to return to Al-Nassr for preseason. The team has encountered obstacles in his absence since Ronaldo is taking a vacation after UEFA Euro 2024. Fans are excited for his comeback and effect on the forthcoming season.
Latest update on Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Al-Nassr pre-season camp
On Saturday, August 3, captain Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr is expected to return to training in Marbella, Spain. The 39-year-old took a break from his busy schedule to spend time with his family after representing Portugal at Euro 2024.
France eliminated Portugal in the quarterfinals on penalties (5-3) following a goalless 120 minutes, and Ronaldo, for the first time in his eleven appearances in major tournaments, failed to score in any of the five games he appeared in.
In the previous round, a 3-0 shootout triumph over Slovenia occurred after the five-time Ballon d'Or winner failed to convert a penalty in the tenth minute of extra time. He would have become the oldest player to score in the history of the competition and the first player to score in six Euros if he had converted the penalty.
Subsequently, the captain of Portugal has been on vacation with his family. However, as per Arriyadiyah, he, along with defender Aymeric Laporte, is scheduled to attend Al-Nassr training on Saturday.
The runners-up of the 2023-24 Saudi Pro League are set to compete against Granada in their first pre-season fixture, followed by a match against Almeria on August 8th. It is currently unclear if Ronaldo will participate in either game, although it is anticipated that he will be involved to some degree.
The Knights of Najd will start their new season in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup against Al-Taawoun on August 14th.
