'Don't Give Me Hopes': Fans Excited as Al-Nassr Eyes Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo's Ex-Teammate
Al-Nassr fans are thrilled at the prospect of acquiring Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo's former teammate from Real Madrid. Their excitement is palpable.
Al-Nassr will be facing Al-Hilal in the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in the Saudi Super Cup final; Cristiano Ronaldo is looking at a first major title with the team. Al-Hilal, the reigning domestic treble winners, are favourites having won the Saudi Pro League, King's Cup, and Saudi Super Cup the previous season; Al-Nassr is keen to damage their opponent at the beginning of the new season. The long-awaited fight promises to be fierce.
Al-Nassr is reportedly interested in reuniting Cristiano Ronaldo with Sergio Ramos
Former Cristiano Ronaldo teammate Sergio Ramos is under demand by Al-Nassr supporters for the team to acquire. According to Saudi news source @mdrjalnassr (via X), the Spanish defender is a free agent now under advanced negotiations to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
Together at Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018 Sergio Ramos and Ronaldo had great success. The pair participated in 339 side-by-side games, helping Los Blancos to record an outstanding 15 major trophy haul comprising two La Liga championships and four UEFA Champions League successes.
Ramos signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), having left Real Madrid in 2021. The 38-year-old then went back to Sevilla last season, making 37 appearances overall across all divisions until leaving the team earlier this summer.
Bringing Ramos to Al-Nassr would greatly strengthen the defence of the squad as it gets ready for the 2024–25 campaign. Rumours of Alex Telles possibly leaving the team would make Ramos's expertise and leadership a great asset to the team.
Although nothing has been official yet, Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo will now be seen in action against Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup Final on Saturday. The Portuguese legend is looking for his first major trophy with the Saudi club. Sergio Ramos is likely to announce his future soon; it is evident that after playing in La Liga last season, the former Spain captain has a lot of football left in his legs.
