Borussia Dortmund's 14-year-old sensation Youssoufa Moukoko has become the youngest-ever player to score in the UEFA Youth League. The under 19s tournament is UEFA's youth version of the Champions League, with the groups mirroring those in Europe's elite club competition.
The Cameroon-born starlet was on target just eight minutes into BVB's Youth League clash with Inter Milan on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, making him the youngest player to score in the competition by well over a year. He made his Youth League debut on September 17, 2019, against FC Barcelona. The previous record of 16 years and 30 days was jointly held by Ajax's Youri Regeer and Christos Liatsos of Olympiacos. Moukoko will only turn 15 on November 20, 2019.
Moukoko has a brilliant goal scoring record
Moukoko was 11 when he joined Dortmund from Bundesliga 2 side, St Pauli. In his first season, the striker scored 33 goals in 21 games for the Under-15 side. In just 69 games for Dortmund, the youngster has already bagged himself 106 goals. He won the Under 17s Bundesliga and twice won the league's Golden Boot award for top scorer. The 14-year-old has scored 15 goals in seven games for the U19 side this season The teenager has already been dubbed the 'new Messi' and the 'new Eto'o,' in typical fashion, and according to reports, teams have already started scouting the player who made his under 17s debut aged 12.
After scoring 50 goals during the 2018-19 campaign, Moukoko earned promotion to Dortmund's under-19 setup for this season and has caught the eye of Germany boss Joachim Löw.
