Chelsea FC will look to make it five consecutive wins in all competitions when they host Newcastle United on Saturday in matchday 9 of the Premier League
Venue – Stamford Bridge, London
Kickoff Time – 7:30 PM IST, October 19, 2019
Preview
Chelsea under Frank Lampard haven’t had the best run in the league with just four wins from the eight games they’ve played. Their home form has been very poor having picked up just five points from a possible twelve so far. Despite looking ever so comfortable going forward they have looked equally shaky in defence. They have conceded 14 goals already in the League this season but have looked much better at the back since the introduction of Fikoyo Timori into the lineup.

Newcastle United on the other hand, are looking for another major scalp after beating Manchester United at home last time out. Their only other win in the league was against another top 4 contender, Tottenham Hotspur. Despite these impressive results, they have largely looked lost under Steve Bruce, who still is figuring out his best 11. Newcastle are currently 16th with a mere eight points from eight games in the league.

Probable Playing XIs
Chelsea
Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcos Alonso, Fikayo Timori, Kurt Zouma, Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Mason Mount, Willian, Pedro, Tammy Abraham
Newcastle United
Martin Dubravka, Jetro Willems, Ciaran Clark, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, DeAndre Yedlin, Miguel Almiron, Sean Longstaff, Matthew Longstaff, Allan Saint-Maximin, Joelinton
Top Picks
Tammy Abraham has been in fine form for Lampard’s young blues, having already scored eight times in eight games including a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in September. He is the current top-scorer in the league and would be looking to add to his tally against a Newcastle side that likes to sit back. Chelsea’s defence, however, would have to be on their toes to contain Newcastle counter attacks. Fikayo Timori has looked the most assured in the Chelsea defence. Jorginho has looked a completely new player under Lampard and has done well in keeping the Chelsea midfield ticking. He is also on penalty duties. For the Magpies, Jetro Willems has one goal and one assist in five games so far and has looked very promising in the attack.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection
Captain: Tammy Abraham, Jorginho
Vice Captain: Jetro Willems, Matthew Longstaff
Chelsea vs Newcastle United Dream11 starting XI
Goalkeeper - K. Arrizabalaga
Defenders - F. Timori, F. Schar, J. Willems
Midfielders - Jorginho, M. Longstaff, M. Mount, S. Longstaff
Forwards - T. Abraham, Joelinton, Willian
Chelsea vs Newcastle Dream11 Prediction
Chelsea 3-1 Newcastle
The Chelsea defence has looked vulnerable this season, which could allow Newcastle to have a go at the goal. But the home team might have just enough firepower to see them through against a team which has a knack of frustrating their opponents.
