Euro 2024: Ukraine GK's CHAOTIC mistake turns into Goal of the tournament for Romania's captain

The Euro 2024 has come to life in the Group E fixture between Romania and Ukraine as the tournament has witnessed its first Golazo and an early candidate to win the goal of the tournament.

Up until the 28th minute of the contest the match between Ukraine and Romania was a pretty even affair with both teams treading with caution. However Ukrainian and Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin misplaced a pass out from the back and handed the ball to Romania. The players found Romania captain Nicolae Stanciu who fired in an excellent shot from 20 yards outside the goal and curled its way into the top left corner for the goal of the tournament so far. 

The goal by the Romanian skipper is certainly one of the most memorable goals in Euros and is an early candidate to win the goal of the tournament. 

Romania have got the early lead in the first half thanks to a thunderous strike. The goal turned out to be the difference maker in the contest as both teams headed into half time with Romania leading by 1-0.

Romania double the lead with another BANGER

As it turned out, Romania doubled their advantage into the second half pretty quickly as in the 53rd minute, Razvan Marin doubled the advantage in another stinging finish from outside the box.

Romania struck Ukraine like lightning and they had no answer. Andriy Lunin's night went bad from worse because despite the effort from Marin that ball went directly under his hands and it was an effort that should've been saved. Tough luck for the goalkeeper from Real Madrid. 

Soon after, Romania scored their third and final goal of the match this time a tap in to seal all three points and start their Euro 2024 campaign with a thumping 3-0 win in Group E. Ukraine's hopes for making it into the next round of the tournament have taken a major hit with this defeat.
