FIFA Rankings: India drop points, Belgium retain No 1 position

India dropped to the 106 spots in the latest FIFA rankings after sharing the spoils against Bangladesh in the World Cup qualifier in the international break

India currently played Bangladesh at home in their recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The hosts shared the spoils with Bangladesh with a late equaliser. The results saw the Indian football team dropping two spots to 106th position in the latest FIFA rankings which was issued. India entered the clash with great confidence as they managed to halt the Asian champions Qatar for a 0-0 draw in September.

Table Rankings

The Bangladesh team, however, benefitted from the draw and jumped three positions to 184th spot. Belgium are still on the top spot of the table, while, the World Cup winners are in the second. Brazil have sealed the third position for now. Standings after the recent international break Uruguay (up 1, 5th), Croatia (up 1, 7th), Argentina (up 1, 9th) have also edged closer to the rankings. England are in the fourth position in the FIFA rankings so far.

There have been altering in the FIFA rankings, Ukraine jumped three positions to the 22nd spot. Japan got to the 28th spot. Turkey (up 5, 32) and Russia moved five places up to the 37th spot. Many teams have jumped more than 10 places outside the top 50, Nicaragua (up 11, 137), South Sudan (up 11, 162nd), Sao Tome and Principe (up 10, 180th) and Barbados (up 10, 160th). Kosovo have enjoyed their best ranking position to date (up 5, 114th).
