Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. is currently on the road to recovery after getting a season-ending knee injury last year. Neymar is currently signed with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal but has only played 3 matches for them before getting injured for the rest of the season. He has a 2-year deal in place with the Saudi club with an option to extend.
It has been reported by SPORT, that Neymar offered himself to his former club after the club failed to sign Nico Williams as Barcelona continue their search for a winger. According to reports, Neymar tried to take advantage of his relationship with the club to try and return to the Catalan side.
Hansi Flick Vetoes Neymar Move
As Neymar offered his services to FC Barcelona to try and rejoin his former club, his efforts and determination were swiftly brought down. According to the report, Neymar's move to Barcelona was quickly rejected by the new FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick. The reasons cited were that Hansi Flick does not see Neymar as a good fit for his project.
This was not the first time, Neymar has tried to return to Barcelona ever since leaving the club in 2017. The first instance was during Neymar's stint in PSG when he tried to force a move back to Barcelona but the two teams could not settle on a transfer fee as Barcelona offered 110-Million Euros and a few players but PSG was adamant to get 130-Million Euros for the skillful winger.
The second instance was when Messi had left PSG and decided to join MLS side Inter Miami. Neymar's name was again linked with the Catalan club but those plans could not come into fruition.
Barcelona's Troubles Continue
FC Barcelona have been facing severe troubles in the terms of their finances. The situation has gotten bad to the point where they are not able to register their new signing Dani Olmo. FC Barcelona have started the new season in marvelous fashion with getting 2-wins in 2-games but their financial troubles keep plaguing them outside the football pitch.
“We have a great atmosphere in the team and the attitude is fantastic, everyone is responding really well. We have two wins, six points and that helps. It's not easy with our high pressing and the risks we take - anything can happen but we are doing well. We have to keep improving and we are working to do better in the next game. That's our objective and that's how things will go well for us. It's true that there are important pieces missing but even though we are not at 100%, the situation is good and we are improving,” said Barcelona manager Hansi Flick after Barcelona's win against Bilbao, giving insight into the Dani Olmo situation and Barcelona's win.
