Real Madrid are back and have started to do what they do best, i.e., win trophies. The Los Blancos won their first silverware of the season this week when they defeated Atalanta 2-0 in the Super Cup final. Madrid won the league and went on to win the Champions League last season, and with the incoming Kylian Mbappe in the squad, they are expected to display the same success if not more. Real Madrid have immense firepower and are balanced when it comes to mid-field and defense. Despite having a world-class squad under his control, RM manager Carlo Ancelotti still rues the absence of a club legend.

Carlo Ancelotti misses Toni Kroos

Following the culmination of the 2023/24 season, midfielder Toni Kroos put an end to his historic club career. Starting this season, he will no longer be positioned in the midfield and his absence has been felt by Ancelotti in the squad from the team's first outing.

“The first game went well, we will always miss Kroos, he was a special player. Looking for another one is impossible, we must adapt. It’s not bad, if you get used to it too much it’s not good. It’s good for the players to have to think.”

Toni Kroos, a German midfielder, was a key figure for Real Madrid. He joined the club in 2014 and immediately became a starter. Renowned for his exceptional passing, vision, and control, Kroos quickly established himself as a pivotal player in midfield. His technical skill and intelligence on the field have made him crucial in both defensive and offensive play.

During his time at Real Madrid, Kroos has helped the team secure numerous titles, including 5 UEFA Champions League trophies and domestic 4 La Liga championships. His ability to dictate the tempo of the game and his precise distribution made him integral to the club’s success.
