'Hope To Retire': Former Real Madrid Teammate Fires Warning To Toni Kroos Ahead of Spain vs Germany

Spain and Germany are all set to face each other in a mammoth Euro 2024 quarterfinal clash at Suttgart Arena in Stuttgart. Spain and Germany once again face each other at the biggest stage and this time the host nation of Germany will feel they have the upper hand over their arch nemesis.  

As Spain prepares to take on Germany, a big talking point is Toni Kroos coming up against his former Real Madrid teammate in what could be his last game on a football pitch. As the match edges closer, former Real Madrid teammate has fired a warning to Toni Kroos ahead of quarterfinal.

Real Madrid Teammate Fires Warning to Toni Kroos Ahead of Quarterfinal 

Toni Kroos announced his retirement from Football last month and confirmed that the Euros with Germany will be his final assignment as a professional football player.  

Ahead of the game Toni Kroos' former Real Madrid teammate Joselu fired a warning saying that they are hoping Toni Kroos will retire after the game meaning that Spain will beat Germany. 

Joselu warned Toni Kroos saying, “Let's hope to retire Toni Kroos on Friday.  He reflects everything Real Madrid is, it was a pleasure to play with him”. 

Joselu further admitted that the match against Germany will be extremely tough but he is looking forward to the contest. “It’s going to be a difficult battle. I spoke to Rüdiger the other day,” said Joselu.

Spain vs Germany Head to Head 

Spain vs Germany is one of the most iconic fixtures at the European Championship and most notably the two sides met each other in the finals of Euro 2008 when La Rojas emerged victorious 1-0.

Spain and Germany have faced other on 26 occasions in the past with Germany emerging victorious 9 times, Spain winning 8 and both nations playing 8 draws among them.

The winner of the quarterfinal is touted as the team that will go ahead and win the European Championship in 2024.
