Analysing the drop
After India’s goalless draw against Asian champions Qatar in September, India played one of their worst games against Bangladesh under Igor Stimac. Adil Khan became the unlikely saviour for India when he headed the ball in the 88th minute against Bangladesh. Bangladesh, however, benefitted from the draw, jumping three spots to 184th. India lost 6 points to drop to 1201 points allowing Mauritiana to leapfrog them.

India face Afghanistan (149th) next in their FIFA World Cup qualifier on November 14 as Stimac looks for a reaction from his side. They lie 4th in the table with just two points and four points behind Oman in second place.
Other rankings
The top teams weren't much affected as Belgium has managed to hold on to the top spot with 1755 points after their displays in the Euro 2020 qualifiers. Belgium are followed by France and Brazil. England is placed fourth ahead of Uruguay. Top-ten rivals Uruguay (5th, up 1), Croatia (7th, up 1), Argentina (9th, up 1) have edged closer to the summit, according to the FIFA website.
