Messi hurt his ankle in training on Monday

Lionel Messi has been exceptional for David Beckham’s side and has given them a new face in the USA. Messi took Inter Miami to the semi-finals of the first competition he participated in with the team. The player has been regular and has played all the games for the team and scored in all of them.  With eight goals in five games since joining the MLS team in July, Messi has recently played a key role in guiding Miami to the Leagues Cup semifinals.

However, according to the reports Messi faced a minor injury on his right ankle during the club’s training session on Monday. The injury raised  concerns whether the captain will participate in the crucial match on Wednesday or not. Prior to their Leagues Cup semifinal matchup against the Philadelphia Union, Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino downplayed worries about a possible injury to Lionel Messi.

Gerardo Martino provides a major update on Lionel Messi's injury concern

Before leaving for their League Cup semi-final against the Philadelphia Union, Martino spoke to the media and said the following:

"I was only at a part of the session because I had a meeting afterwards and was finishing preparing, so I didn't see exactly what happened. But if it was something serious, I'm sure everyone would have been shocked," "Since everyone was fine, I imagine nothing happened."

It's important to note that Messi's arrival in Miami has made a big difference in how well the team does. Before he got there, they hadn't won in 11 straight games, but since the 7th time Ballon d’Or winner joined the club earlier this summer, they've won five in a row and are unbeatable.
